Thank You Picture

Hello again so soon, I just finished this picture for a friend. She knitted a lovely pair of fingerless gloves for me and in return I painted this picture. It's been few months since I've painted so I felt a little rusty, but I'm happy with the outcome. I'm gonna get stuck into my painting though to refine me technique.
She told me she loves the colour mustard, bicycles and I was telling her about how I want a pipe (I don't smoke but I think it's a cool little prop) and this is was the result.
I started by doing a rough in illustrator so I had a guide line and then painted freehand. This meant it got a little rough in places where I had to fix up mistakes, but I think that can add to the character of the picture and no one can repeat those little imperfections. (well thats what i'm going with :) )
I'd love to hear what you think.
ta ta for now x

Sketching it up at Dr Sketchy's

So I have been slack of late, busy with my studies, but never fear here are some sketches I did a couple of weeks ago at Dr Sketchy's. Poppy Cherry was the model and with some friends I sat back and sketched away while listening to some awesome tunes by DJ Knave Knixx.
A little rusty on my life drawing skills, but good fun was had.
Dr Sketchy is held once a month, and has these event all around the world, so check out the link to see if there's one near you!

Sunrise over steamy pool

Some more photo's! I am always snapping pictures where ever I go, so I thought I might share some with you :)
I work twice a week at Boroondara Sports Complex in Melbourne which is a lovely 50m outdoor pool. I teach a stroke correction squad at 6am in the morning. Ouch! but what lovely sunrises I get to see! And there's nothing nicer then a steaming pool on a winters morning! enjoy :)

Cloud Ripple

I was rushing to the bus the other day, but just before I got on I though what a beautiful sky and snapped this pic. Hope you enjoy :)

The Dan O'Connell Hotel

So I was a bit of a loner last Saturday, I was gasping for a cider, so with no one to hold my hand I went to the Dan O'Connell Hotel, an Irish Pub, by myself.
I always drive past and have always wanted to drop in. It was nice and cosy, and while I quenched my thirst I did this little sketch. I use to draw in this style alot, but haven't in recent times. I will definitely go back for more sketching and cider mmm....
