'The End is the Beginning' Exhibition Opening Night Friday March 25th 6-9pm

"The End is the Beginning" showcases the work of the first ever graduates
from NMIT's Bachelor of Illustration. The completion of their degree
heralds the beginning of their entry into the challenging and
competitive world of illustration.

While each of the twelve artists individually presents their own unique
vision, the breadth of subject matter and styles exhibited illuminates
the multifaceted voice of illustration

Sketch for upcoming exhibition

For my graduate show, the theme is 'The end is the beginning', as we all finish the course but start our creative journey. In all my pieces I have used some animals, a koi, fawn, rabbit, fox and sometimes a cat and or bird. These animals fit together like a puzzle with a girl's face emerging.
I have used several symbols with the meaning 'the end is the beginning' and each picture has a lotus representing that through mud and struggle, something beautiful can emerge.
This is a rough sketch and while quite different from my final images in the exhibition, it is like the front cover of the story that is about to follow.

Photos for Water Element Exhibition

This photo was taken in Wales

This was taken from a lookout on the Isle of Capri in Italy

This was taken in Dromana, Victoria, Australia

My favourite photo was taken in Croatia in the Plitvice Lakes National Park. The water has so much limestone that this tree that has fallen in the lake has become a skeleton of sorts.

Little Sketch

This is a little painting I have done for an up coming exhibition. I love drawing quirky and edgy characters, and I was inspired by Camilla Rose Garcia who is an awesome artist.
I have used watercolour and acrylics on a 9 x 5 bit of wood.
I didn't gesso the board as I like the wood to show through and I never know what exactly I will leave blank. For this piece her skin is not painted but the wood left blank.
