LADIE KILLERZ is a weekend long, traveling festival, celebrating ladies and their killer skills in all things art, music, film and especially graffiti!

LADIE KILLERZ started 4 years ago as a bunch of like minded, graffiti loving, girls with a taste for trouble, a need to paint, a love of the party and a hankering for a change of scenery. Since the original gathering and paint jam in Brisbane, LADIE KILLERZ has hit Adelaide twice... now and grown into a ridiculous 3 day festival. In the past, LADIE KILLERZ has included; an art exhibition and sale, live music gigs, a film festival, and a chance to party and meet other female graffiti artists from around Australia. And the reason we keep on doing it? To have a massive graffiti paint jam of course!!

This year –Melbourne - will host LADIE KILLERZ #4 and will feature; an ART EXHIBITION + SALE, a huge BLOCK PARTY, WORKSHOPS, MARKET STALLS, and MASSIVE GRAFFITI PAINT JAM with your favourite ladie graffiti artists from Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and of course Melburn. This is going to be huge!!

Sketchity Sketch

I had a little break from drawing after having a rush of exhibitions one after the other, but my hands start to twitch for a near by pencil and I simply can't resist! While waiting for a friend who was at the hairdressers, I sat with a cup of tea and let my pencil lead. I forgot how nice it is to use a grey lead with no strings attached!
They are only rough but oh what fun!

'Cross My Heart and Hope to Die'
(I do love drawing girls with issues!)

'Free as a Bird'
(referenced from a billboard add, it's a little NQR)

'Lightning Strikes Twice When Ur Around'
(How cute is she!)

'The End is the Beginning' Exhibition Artwork

I firstly have to say how sorry I am for the shocking photo's, having so many camera issues, but you get the idea.

They series is called The Lotus, The Dreaming and The Creation.
They are all painted on wood using mixed media. In each you can find a woman's face and a lotus, but the animals vary slightly. I have also use many symbols in each that represent the beginning and the end.

For me the Lotus is the most important part, symbolising that through struggle a thing of beauty can be created.
This is very far from my usual style, but I really enjoyed the process and having pieces that actual work as a series.

Skulls and Bones Magazine

So, the exhibition 'The End is the Beginning' went really well, and it's such a relief that it was successful and now all done!
It was fun and stressful all in one, as exhibitions often are, and marked the end of our course, Bachelor of Illustration, and the beginning of.... (I have yet to find a proper answer for that yet).
I will put up my images soon, unfortunately my camera had issues and all my photo's have turned out horrible.
But in other news, last year my class all submitted work for a new online magazine called skulls and bones. None of us heard anything back, but last week we discovered 5 of us are got in, me included! Am quite chuffed I must say to get a little boost in confidence. Here is the link, my image is on page 67. http://issuu.com/rocka-graphics/docs/skullsbones
